Experience
Speech Language Pathologist: Pillager Public Schools, MN (January - June, 2014) I worked as a collaborative team to structure IEP’s and intervention strategies for a caseload of 22 students; grades 4th - 10th. I created and implemented therapy activities to accommodate the needs of children with speech-language-hearing disabilities and impairments. In addition, I conducted parent teacher conferences to review student’s academic, social, and communication progress Substitute Teacher/Paraprofessional: Bertha Public Schools, MN (October – December, 2013) I gained didactic experience with a variety of students; all ages I consider myself a highly focused, organized, and punctual individual. I have an insatiable appetite to learn and help others learn. This is apparent as I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Audiology at the University of Minnesota. Previously I worked as a substitute teacher (all ages) and as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). I have a great foundation of early language acquisition as I have primarily focused on facilitating speech and language development. My experience encompasses achieving speech/language, academic, and social developmental milestones for kids of all ages, including individuals with co-morbid disabilities. I have learned patience is essential for learning. In addition, implementing multi-modality teaching methods is imperative to discover how your child learns best (i.e. visual or auditory). My degree is based on the premise of solid communication, which is one of the key elements to successful tutoring.
